  • A referral is not required to see a psychologist and you are welcome to pay privately for your appointments.

    You may be eligible for a private health rebate if you have an appropriate level of cover, we suggest speaking with your private health insurer to learn more.

  • We can provide psychological treatment under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. You may be able to access Medicare rebates for both in person or Telehealth sessions if you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

    Couples Therapy is not eligible for medicare rebates, however you may wish to enquire with your private health fund about potential rebates

    Please note, you are unable to claim both a Medicare rebate and private health rebate for your session.

  • Please contact your GP where you will be directed to book an appointment to discuss your eligibility for a mental health care plan and referral.

  • Yes, once you have used all 10 rebatable sessions for the calendar year, you are welcome to continue seeing your psychologist privately.

    At the beginning of the next calendar year, if you have a valid referral, you can access up to a further 10 sessions under your mental health care plan.

  • Yes, we accept referrals for individuals accessing support through WorkCover Qld.

  • A limited number of weekend appointments are available on every second Saturday.

    Please note that there is a $30 out-of-hours fee for weekend appointments.

  • Andrew accepts referrals for clients accessing support through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

    Eligible DVA card holders may be able to access psychology services at no cost through a DVA referral.

    To access services through DVA, a DVA referral is required from your GP. Please contact your GP to discuss your eligibility.

    A DVA referral is valid for one treatment cycle, 12 months or 12 sessions, whatever comes first. You may be eligible for further treatment cycles.

  • Forrest Psychology offers support for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

  • Yes. As our services are in high demand and we are not able to fill cancellation spaces on short notice, we require at least two business days notice. Our full cancellation policy is available here.

  • We have a limited number of spaces for bulk-billing clients, however there may be a considerable wait-time to access bulk-billed psychological services due to high-demand.

    Please note that our bulk-bill waitlist is currently closed.
